Free Discussion / Re: The Disingenuous Invocation of Free Speech at MMSA

@Johnno

I can't really tell what you meant (I guess you meant the threads, but the issues bled together a bit), but the icon objection wasn't from JCW. I know because the person that did object, sent me the email they sent you yesterday.

First, where's the point that I reported Bobby's offensive post DAYS before I said anything in the MMSA forum?
.  How did you report this? I do not recall an email from you and there is no PM.

I used that handy "report post" option. To which I added "hate speech" in the notes area.

I had a rather strong objection from another contributor alleging that I had 'deliberately given the  wrong gender  icon to  a transgender story of yours'.    I did no such thing.  I have no idea what he is talking about.  Most of your stories are done by another reviewer but as he is unavailable at present for personal reasons, I have been doing some recent ones.

You have always  given very helpful icon guidance -- thank you and I wish others would do the same -- and that is what I would have followed had I reviewed the story concerned. In any case regardless of what the person is referring to if you or any author thinks icons are incorrect just send a modification with 'note to reviewer' to request change or send an email to me and I will fix.

Johnno

I'll just email you about this later. They were mad and let me know at the time the story posted too, but I could see it from both viewpoints.

Hi! I thought I'd post a little extra clarity here since a friend pointed out the existence of this thread. (This entire post is written in a non-hostile manner, so read it as such. If anything, I'm near tears.)

First, where's the point that I reported Bobby's offensive post DAYS before I said anything in the MMSA forum? Just saying. It's not like I jumped right in. Both post reports I made were left to sit until Johnno replied to my public post when I asked why the thread was being ignored by moderators. He then gave Bobby a green light to carry on with his "free speech". Promptly after, the reports were both closed with no action taken.

My PM's are closed at MMSA due to Bobby contacting me to call me evil (back in July) over a different thread. He believes I'm pro-abortion due to my geographical location. Which I've never said how I feel, one way or the other.

I suffer from severe depression and I do my best to keep it in check (yeah, I know that doesn't make me special). I've received a number of emails that asked if I'm okay and/or if I'd reconsider pulling my stories. I also had a number of people that contacted me saying they understood why I wanted to pull my stories. This has taxed me but I'm not going to hurt myself over anything Bobby related. I think removing my stories is basically seen as having something of a babyfit in reaction to Bobby, or that I'm trying in vain to punish MMSA by removing my nearly 200 stories amongst the vast 38,000+. Which I can see people thinking that, but that's really not the point. I'm considering my options, which includes removing myself from MMSA for a length of time and leaving my stories. I'm also inclined to move away from MMSA and take my stories with me. I'm not that hard to find online. If my fans love me, they'll be able to find me.

My nephew liked Space Jam A LOT, especially at the tween age. The old TMNT were my favorites. I watched them so many times, I wore a hole in the VHS tapes. I don't know the ratings but they're probably in the family friendly range.

The new TMNT is PG-13 I think, but I prefer the original.
