A few months ago I wrote this story about a teenage boy who took his support to one of the candidates too far, and got spanked for it.

This week, the old, conservative, leftist, now newly president of Mexico hold a press conference asking parents and specially mothers, to help the security state policy by raising good kids. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if he actually asked parents to spank their kids, but he didn't... yet.
The hashtag #chanclazosnobalazos (spankings better than shootings) was trending on social networks as a mock of his campaign slogan #abrazosnobalazos (hugs better than shootings).
At the least this shows the fact that spankings are somehow still alive in this country, specially the slipper version applied from moms.
And at the most, this might even be the starting point of an official support to spankings in the country. I think the last time in history that spankings were supported by the official government was in England in the Victorian Era.
