That may qualify them for dual citizenship.  I read somewhere that the only way to become a full citizen of Germany is to be born there.  That was a long time ago and the law may have changed.

No, you can qualify by certain conditions. On the other hand, beeing born in Germany alone doesn't qualify automatically. Either you need a German parent or one parent must live for eight years or more in Germany (and several more conditions, e.g. speaking German).

Thanks for the information.  So Germany is unlike America.  Here if you are born here you are an American Citizen.

Right now, that's pretty much Sunday morning.  The rest of the time, it's just too many guests during the summer.  I will say that some of my boys swim **** in the earliest part of the morning, and I don't stop them.  Noah and Ryan were skinny dipping after their morning run, when we made biscuits the other day.  Bryce often joins them when he's home.

... I only allow kids to skinny dip when I have direct permission from the parents to do so.  We will have some next week, but it will be limited, and we never do it on an 'open invitation' day.

Why don't you schedule some specific times each week for skinny dipping in the pool?  That way your boys would know what to expect and no one would be surprised.  You could even say "no suits allowed" during that time so no one would feel self-conscious about their choice of suit or no suit.

One of my nephews was born in Germany when his dad was stationed there.  He has a U.S. Birth Certificate issued from the military hospital where he was born.  But I think you are right.  If he wished he probably could get dual citizenship.

I'm trying to remember back when Moira was born.  I think a person has to have a residence in Germany for 8 years before a child born to them is considered a citizen.  Since I know Scott's daughter was born in the US. and she's 18, I don't think any of the boys would qualify.

As for the pool.  I just took for granted that JJ skinny dipped, since Jack didn't mention anything about him bringing a swim suit or borrowing one.  Jack said something about him hesitating slightly to gage the culture of the land, before stripping. I took that as meaning that the boys all swam n a k e d and he joined right in.

A good deduction, but incorrect in this case.  I just didn't bother to mention his suit.

Back about 12 years ago, I had some problem when a boy told me his mom would have no problem with him skinny dipping, but he was incorrect.  It not only cost the twins a friend, but this crazy woman actually contacted the police.  While it was only a kerfluffle, it's a problem I prefer to avoid, so I only allow kids to skinny dip when I have direct permission from the parents to do so.  We will have some next week, but it will be limited, and we never do it on an 'open invitation' day.

3.6 miles!  That boy is committed.

If JJ's brothers are as comfortable with the Japanese baths as he is, then you might have 3 more skinny dippers around the house.  You can never have enough skinny dippers.  They can brighten up anyone's day just by being there.   ;D

Yes, he is.  He rides his bike every day, and he's glad we have some hills and stuff, so he can vary his route.  Apparently he would like to ride competitively.

As for skinny dipping - I think you're right.  While I never saw Scott naked, JJ says he went with his dad, so I'd guess it's not a big problem with them.

Will JJ and his brother go to school with your kids?

JJ is in high school, so he'll be going with Parker and Devon and in the same grade as Leif.

When he mentioned that he and his brothers had been born in Germany, I suggested that must have been nice, since spanking is illegal there 'from what I understand'.

That may qualify them for dual citizenship.  I read somewhere that the only way to become a full citizen of Germany is to be born there.  That was a long time ago and the law may have changed.

... he's not modest around other guys at all.  He showed that off getting changed for the pool, though he did wait just long enough to be sure what the 'local custom' was.

I assume "getting changed for the pool" means switching to a bathing suit?  He could have skipped the bathing suit altogether and been much more comfortable.

JJ sounds like a very nice kid. It is good that he looks so much like his dad. It seems that he will be a frequent visitor. Will JJ and his brother go to school with your kids?

JJ did fall for Legal's Mate in our first game, but we had a couple of more competitive games after that.

Any time someone is "carelessly" offering you his queen, it is a good idea to be very suspicious.  (That KB2 square is a vulnerable spot before castling - a prime target.)

When Scott was a kid, he didn't wear jeans a lot.  Instead, he tended to wear lighter colored slacks or shorts with dark and jewel colored polos.

It turns out that JJ also enjoys stylin' and profilin'.  He showed up yesterday morning, just after 7am, after having biked 3.6 miles to get here.  He was wearing black running shorts over light blue compression shorts, and a Germany world cup 'home' jersey.  Under the jersey, he wore a sleeveless, dark blue heatgear shirt.  He 'bottomed' the outfit off with black sneakers with blue highlights and accents.

JJ joined us for a light breakfast, then for our morning workout, which involved a lot of soccer drills (at his request).  He's apparently a pretty serious player, and he had a great time.  He ran rings around Parker and Leif, so the twins got out there and put him in his place, which he seemed to love.

When JJ showed up, he had one of those headphone things you wear around your neck, and he'd been listening to music from Dear Evan Hansen when I first saw him.  It's a recent and popular Broadway show, so it got us talking.  Not only does JJ love Broadway (along with a lot of rock), but he also sings, dances (some, and not real well, according to him), and plays piano.  I can't wait for Van to get home and meet him know.   He and Ryan certainly had a good time talking.

After lunch and a bit of swimming, JJ (which stands for Jon Jeffrey, by the way) and I ended up playing some chess.  It turns out all three boys were born in Germany while Scott was stationed there.  They later moved to Japan for several years.  Those two facts lead to a couple of interesting points.

First of all, JJ has visited 'sento' (I don't have access to the proper accent marks, but Japanese public baths) a number of times, and he's not modest around other guys at all.  He showed that off getting changed for the pool, though he did wait just long enough to be sure what the 'local custom' was.

When he mentioned that he and his brothers had been born in Germany, I suggested that must have been nice, since spanking is illegal there 'from what I understand'.

"I don't think it really mattered.  We moved when I was five, and I don't think Dad ever spanked Hunter or  Chase til they were about that old."

He didn't go much into detail, except to say that his little brothers get away with murder, and he got spanked for stuff they always get away with - a complaint almost every elder brother has, I'm sure.  He did admit to getting paddled in school a couple of times last year 'mostly for cutting up in class', and he says his dad hasn't whupped him in a year or more.  He actually does seem like a really well behaved kid.

JJ did fall for Legal's Mate in our first game, but we had a couple of more competitive games after that.  He's a pretty good player, and we ended up taking the board outside, so several kids could play while enjoying yesterday's (comparably) cooler weather.

I've said a lot about Scott, and I mentioned the get together we had Saturday night elsewhere.  Both of us were able to hook up with some old friends we hadn't seen in a while, and we spent a pleasant evening together.  Our kids seemed to get along and have a good time as well.

Which brings me to his kids.

I said before that he has four kids, but his daughter stayed back where they had been living.  She's 18 and will be starting college next month.  It sounds like she'd already decided to attend college there before plans were made to move back here.  She's staying with a friend of hers until she can move into the dorm.

J.J. is 15, and he's beautiful.  It's hard to tell now, but JJ looks a lot like his dad, almost exactly like I remember his dad looking at about the same age, except that JJ gets some coloring from his mom, and his hair is this brown so dark you'd think it was black if we didn't have Daniel right here for comparison.  He has a very clear complexion, and a good tan, but I think he's actually pretty fair skinned, based on the difference between arms and shoulders I saw when he got in the pool.

JJ is slightly shorter than his father, who's shorter than I am.  I think Scott's about 5'9" or 10", so JJ is probably about 5'7" or 8". He's lean, but with a solid, defined build, so I'm going to guess 120 to 125.  He plays soccer and baseball, but he also loves to ride his bike, and he has an incredible set of calves to show it off.

JJ does read, though he seems to prefer mystery and horror to sci-fi/fantasy.  He is also interested in CCGs and he does some role playing, so he has plenty of friends over here already.  Leif seems to like him, so he already knows someone at the high school.

The other two boys - Hunter and Chase - are 12 and 11.  Both of them are fair, but Hunter's hair is a more mid-range brown, while Chase is closer to his dad's shade of blond.  I think both of them were blue eyed.  Both of them are pretty normal, active, tweens, though Hunter looks to be right at 5', so he might be early adolescent now.

I do know that Hunter and Chase are both still spanked.  Thursday, when we met Scott at their new house, he'd mentioned that the two of them had 'got it' before they left that morning for disobeying him, and they'd both been sulky all morning.

That's about it so far.  Scott is supposed to bring the boys by today, as long as they got all their chores/duties finished - or at least to a point their parents are happy with how they're unpacking. Maybe I'll learn a bit more about them then.

Yes, the like button is fine feedback.  I usually love your feedback, because questions give me a direction to go - they help me know what I might have missed, and what people are interested in.  Of course, I know there aren't always questions to ask, so a 'like' or 'informative' or some such lets me know that someone is actually paying attention.  The real problem with reader numbers is that, if there's more than one post in a thread, it's impossible for me to keep up with how many of those were for the latest.

What kind of movies?  Funny.  It's what type of theater.

Right now, we have four theaters in this area, and we really frequent two of them.  Two of them are fairly new and they feature privacy guards on the urinals.  Two of them don't.  Back when Scott was a teen and hanging around with us, there were three theaters (the same three, but one of them was heavily renovated), and it was easy enough to get a glimpse of someone if you were standing next to each other - even if you weren't trying to do so.

I also read everything, but like others have said I often do not have anything new to add. I could say something like "that's interesting, thanks for sharing", but I feel like I'm adding something of not much value. Most of the time when I comment it's because I have a question. Speaking of questions, let me ask, the "like" buttons, does that feel like real feedback to you?

With as much time as we spent together over more than four years, I saw enough of him to know he's circumcised and that his pubic hair is the same shade of blond as on his head, but that was more from going to movies together and stuff.

What kind of movies were you going to, that let you know whether he was circumcised and what color his pubic hair was? ;)

I also read everything you write.  I don't always comment, because I often don't have anything to add, but I enjoy the reading.
