Leti just asked about this, so I should mention that Cynthia Luann Wells was born on 3 November 2018, making her four and one-half months old now.  She's called Cindilu (or Cindy Lu, depending on which parent you ask).

I am glad that everyone had a great time and that you got to dance!

Aw nice that Cory used that song! You are supposed to cry on weddings!

Aw I remember Bobby playing "Brad Paisley's 'He Didn't Have to Be'" and I am sure I have that post somewhere, I just need to find it. But you may have to write about it again!

Sounds like it was a beautiful wedding! That's another one of yours married, Jack. :) More grandkids to come next!

Sorry, but you said Bobby had dedicated "He Didn't Have to Be" to you before? But Bobby isn't married yet, right?

I've already announced that at least part of the impetus of the wedding is that they are expecting about the first of November, so more grandkids already on the way.

As for Bobby - no, he's still single.  He dedicated the song to me at a homecoming where he and his band were playing.  I've shared the details before, and I'll try to find them to share again, or I'm sure they'll show up when we make a bio page for him.

Corey is now married, and everything went very well.

The reception went great.  I was nice and socialized with her family.  We had a pretty traditional reception timeline, though the first part went faster, since they went with a smaller than normal wedding party.  I was out for a while for the family pictures, despite not having been part of the ceremony.

Corey beat my predictions my embarrassing me twice.

They had a good mix of music for the reception, with new pop, classic rock, and even some country.  The couple dance was to Brad Paisley's 'We Danced'.  The father/daughter dance was to Joe Cocker's 'You Are So Beautiful', and then - Cathy being Cathy - the mother/son dance was Guns N' Roses 'Sweet Child of Mine'.  Then the DJ announced their was going to be one more family dance, and he asked me to join Cathy, and they played time of my life (which I predicted was going to happen).  They started the music while I was walking to the front.  Cat and I used to have the first minute or so memorized, and we did pretty good with it.  I asked her, as I reached her if Russ was okay with it, and she just said 'shut up and dance'.

Before the cake, Corey took the mic and explained that I was actually his step-father who'd adopted him, and he dedicated Mike and The Mechanics 'Living Years' to me.  He joked that he'd wanted to use Brad Paisley's 'He Didn't Have to Be', but Bobby had done that before, and he (Corey) didn't want to risk me getting his hands on him if he made me breakdown.

Joke was on him, though.  I broke down anyway.

It really was a wonderful ceremony and a great reception, and everyone really seemed to have a good time.  As far as I could tell, everything went really smooth.  The kids stayed at the Omni last night, and they'll have time to enjoy the amenities and recover before they have to catch their flight for Miami to catch their cruise.

I mentioned way back here https://jackshouse.createaforum.com/general-discussion/easter-2018/  in the Easter Post that Corey and his girlfriend, Megan, were pregnant.

At this point, they're expecting the baby the last week of Oct or first of Nov, so I'm naturally hoping for a Halloween Baby.

Megan and Corey are getting married this Friday night.  The wedding starts at 7pm, with a reception to follow.  No, it's not going to be here.  They've rented a venue that will handle both. It's in Dallas, which will be reasonably convenient for her family and ours, and very convenient for their friends.  It's going to be a small ceremony, with only a best man and bride's maid, and Marcus will be standing up with Corey.

Dad's giving them a cruise to the western Caribbean for the honeymoon.  Both of them have good jobs and nice apartments, so there's not a lot they need.  Cathy did get them a set of copper pans, but she's also giving them a print that she and I had in our bedroom - a really nice, framed and matted silk screen by Patrick Nagel.
