I have been searching for ways to motivate my writing. I asked some author friends to send me blurbs and prompts to see if they offered a jumping off spot. Skip Trace offered "framed by my brother" as a prompt.
That clicked with me and I sat to write out my usual sort of product but it wasn't working. I felt I needed to go in a dark direction and do something I rarely do and that is put a shitty dad in the picture. What is better than a shitty dad? Well, a shitty big brother added in as well.
Simon is gay. His brother has turned hateful because of it and the dad, well, he's just an a s s hole. Mom is ambivalent at best. Jake, the older brother, is a dumb jock but does manage to set Simon up to be punished by Dad.
This one is not happy and fluffy but I am still proud of it and would ask you to give it a shot.
