The chapter mentioned in this thread, by the way. It also had a stranger conversation about getting a D on a science paper and what should be done as a consequence. Poor Uncle Ed. He was lost all through the conversation. Basically, it was a teenager trying to figure things out in his own head by talking aloud to a trusted adult who had the sense to just let the boy talk without adding to much "advice" to what the boy was saying. I did like the offer at the end of the chapter, which the boy turned down, yet did he really want to accept?
I am now going to have to go back and read this from the beginning. I have to find out how we got to this point so I will understand the dynamics of everyone in the story and there are a lot of characters to get to know and then keep straight. It has to be a nightmare writing this soap opera saga.
