I mentioned to someone a few days ago about how I was dating myself when I said that I remembered when kids rode their bikes with no thoughts of using bike helmets, since no one wore them, then. The person I told this to was amazed, and I guess he could not recall folks driving bikes without wearing a bike helmet.

Heck, we roller skated without helmet or knee and elbow pads.  Our skates fit over our shoes and tightened with a key.

Remember that song.  "I got a brand new pair of roller skates and you got a brand new key."  People today don't have a clue what that song was about, because they have never seen skates with a key.

Wow - and it looks like he doesn't even have enough distance behind him to get up to speed!  I'm surprised he could get moving fast enough to jump over two boys.  Kids of a certain age think they are invulnerable.

It looks to me like he has plenty of room.

He could have ridden his bike down to the next block, built speed, and then he just had to swerve a bit as he passed the van to get the proper angle.

Its not the kid on the bike I'm concerned for! . Think we have to thank Evikl Kinevil for this craze. only he was on a high powered motorbike and leaping over parked buses

It looks like his back wheel might catch the boy in blue.

Surely this brings back memories for some of us.

And, yet, we survived childhood.   ;D
