[A water pump? A well? You were lucky. When I was a boy we had to walk ten miles and back every morning before school to fetch water from the nearest lake.
Trees? You were lucky. When I was a boy we had to plant our own tree and wait for it to grow before we could pee.
Three to a bed? You were lucky. When I was a boy we had to sleep on the ground outside in the snow.
You had a washtub? You were lucky. When I was a boy....
I remember when... You were lucky to have running water inside your house. If I remember correctly, we didn't get water to the house until the mid 1960's. It was still from a well, with an electric pump. Toilets were outside in a house to themselves. Some were lucky and had two holers. Ours only had one hole. But mostly us boys used a tree. I remember three to a bed. Taking a bath in a number ten wash tub out in the backyard. Yes in 1960. 1960 wasn't very modern. Oh! And this was in the Capital City of Indiana.
Ah, yes. 1960. I remember it well. I remember when Berlin was all fields.
