 I'm so sorry.  13-14 is a good run even for a small dog.  You can take some small comfort from the knowledge that you gave him the best possible life and that you meant as much to him as he did to you.  The only bad part of being a pet parent is that we are supposed to outlive them .  RIP Bailey.

He stays sedated right now but that is the goal.  I am hopeful that the antibiotics are working though because the area of infection around his eye does look better.  When he is awake (between dosings) he does eat and drink and does his pees and poos and, today, has not whimpered as much. I do see some basic minor improvement.

I am in a better frame of mind about things.
