The only Kai I've ever met is Kai Siegbahn. Swedish, not Hawaiian. Met him briefly in Uppsala in 1966.

I knew when I saw the name Kai, I had heard of it from someplace before.

He's an orphaned Air Bender in the Avatar world.

It took me a few moments to realize what the 'Kia' comment was, then I had to read through the story to find out if I'd just misspelled it. I finally used the ctl-F function, so yeah, I knew it was only once. I should have done a better job of introducing him. Glad you didn't mind re-reading it, though.

Remember that this story is told from Kai's point of view. While it could be 100% accurate, that also means he could be focusing on certain things and editing others, so don't let it make you feel too bad.

Chapter One

‘... bells, oh Christmas bells, ringing through the land, bringing peace to all…’

Dad finally put down a card, and I brought my attention back to the game. Mom and Josh had both had to draw cards a couple of times, so they weren’t close to winning. Aunt Sami had almost won, but she’d had to draw two cards last time, so it looked like my game.

“Clubs,” Aunt Sami said, dropping the six of clubs on top of the six of hearts. My last card was the king of hearts, so now I had to draw. I tried not to scream.

Dad went out that turn.

“One more game,” Josh protested. Half of me wanted to agree with him.

“No, no more games,” Uncle Bill said. “It’s after ten o’clock, and both of you boys have been yawning to beat the band. Why don’t y’all say good night and head off to bed?”

Josh grumbled. At twelve years old, it’s not like we were little kids anymore. I’ll bet they really just wanted some time to do fun adult stuff without us around. Still, Josh’s dad was as strict as mine, and we both knew when it wasn’t worth protesting. Instead, we each grabbed a last oatmeal cookie off the plate and said good night.

“Guys?” Mom said as we started back towards Josh’s bedroom.

We stopped and turned to face her.

“The littles are all in bed and asleep. Let’s not wake them, okay?”

Dad picked up the stream.

“You two have not been on your best behavior this weekend, so maybe take this chance to start repairing your reputations and just go quietly to sleep?”

“And that goes for you, Josh,” Uncle Bill chipped in.

I wanted to complain that we hadn’t been doing anything wrong, but it’s one of those arguments you just can’t win, so I just gave in, nodded, and turned back towards the bedrooms. I saw Josh’s mouth open, but apparently he was thinking the same thing I did, because he followed me without actually saying anything.

Walking through their living room made me wish we had a fireplace. Their living room looked so awesome, with the Christmas tree in the corner all lit up, and the fireplace decorated with garlands and candles and lights. The fire had mostly died down, but it still looked nice.

I looked around the room. Really, the only way you could tell we’d done our gift exchange that night was the stack of bows Aunt Sami had saved off the torn wrapping paper.

“We’re still going to do it, right?” Josh asked as we walked down the hall, leaning over towards me and keeping his voice low.

“You’re not going to quit this time are you?”

“No,” Josh said in an irritating sing-song. “I’m not going to quit this time. Quit asking.”

I wanted to hit him, but we were walking past the door to Krissa’s room, where his little sister and my brothers were all sleeping, and I decided that would probably constitute a very bad idea.

Once in his bedroom, I started undressing. I’d brought pajamas, but Josh’s room was warmer than mine usually was, and I almost never slept in pajamas at home. I’d changed clothes before we went to dinner, so I decided just to wear these same ones tomorrow and dropped my shirt on Josh’s dresser.

“You ever sleep n‍aked?”

“Huh?”

“Bare-as‍sed,” he explained. “Do you…”

“No,” I interrupted him. “Usually in my boxers. You know that.”

“Well, you want to try it? I mean, if we’re gonna… You know...”

He blushed a bit, but I did know, so I just shrugged, let my pants hit the floor and sent my boxers to join them.

“Toast. We are toast in so many ways,” I thought.

I tried to think if I’d ever been caught in a worse situation, but I gave it up quickly as a waste of time. I mean, here it was, the 12th of December… Maybe early the 13th? One week of school left and less than two weeks until Christmas, and I look up to see Dad and Uncle Bill bursting into Josh’s bedroom to find the two of us, half off the bed, n‍aked, obviously fighting, and both of us hard as rocks. Well, at least I was. Josh had already c‍um, so he was getting soft.

Actually, that’s what the fight’s about. Josh said that, since I can’t c‍um yet, he doesn’t have to keep doing me until I say I’m finished, because it’s just a waste of time. Instead, after he shot, he just quit sucking and left me feeling about a half-inch away from exploding. It’s not just that he did it, but that he’s done it before, and he promised he wouldn’t this time.

The only good news is that I’d swallowed, so there were no embarrassing stains to explain.

“Ladies,” Dad said, stepping back into the hall. “Nothing to see here. Bill and I will clear it up. Why don’t y’all get the little ones back to bed.”

It was hard to hear the end of what Dad said, because Uncle Bill pulled the door shut between us and them.

“Just what the h‍ell is going on here?” Bill asked, seeming to direct the question at his oldest son.

Josh tried to stutter out an answer, but I think he had the same feeling I did that any explanation involving the term ‘sucking each other’s d‍icks’ was not going to improve the situation.

Surprisingly, it wasn’t as hard as I’d expected. By the time Dad came back into the room, we’d managed to explain that we’d just been sleeping bare on a bet, and that we’d just gotten into a stupid argument that just… escalated.

When Dad walked in, shutting the door behind him, Uncle Bill stopped Josh.

“The ladies are getting the little ones back to sleep. I told them we’d handle this.”

I was glad to hear that, though I wasn’t even hard anymore by this point - not much anyway.

I was watching the floor when Uncle Bill explained things to Dad. I could still feel Dad staring at me, and I’m pretty sure Josh was squirming just as much as I was.

I finally started to relax a bit when Dad answered, “That makes sense I guess.”

Uncle Bill agreed with him.

I looked up to catch the two of them looking at each other, then Dad started looking around at the floor. I was trying to figure out what he was looking for, when he seemed to find it. About that same time, I felt Josh go stiff beside me. I looked over to see Uncle Bill heading towards Josh’s closet. Then I saw Dad pick up my pants and I’m pretty sure I went as tense as Josh was.

A second later, while I watched Dad unthreading my belt from the loop of my pants, I saw Uncle Bill, from the corner of my eyes, walking back towards us holding one of Josh’s belts.

“Okay, you two, let’s take care of this before the little ones get back to sleep,” Uncle Bill said. “Over the bed.”

“Wh-what?” Josh stammered.

I have to admit I started to tear up.

It was Dad who replied. “It’s still nearly two weeks until Christmas, and neither one of you boys has even been trying to be on your best behavior - not recently and especially not today.”

“It’s been bad enough that we were talking about it before this happened,” Uncle Bill said, picking up the thread. “We would never whip you if you didn’t do something specific, but you were specifically told to go to bed.”

“You were warned the little guys were already asleep,” Dad added.

“And we told you to keep it down.”

“We might not whup you just because you’re having a little trouble with your attitude, but the way you two have been acting lately can sure tip the balance between us trying to be understanding and us busting your butts for disobeying.”

“Besides, you’re already dressed for it,” Uncle Bill added with a smile, though it didn’t seem funny at all. “Now, get over the bed.”

I sobbed, and when Josh glanced at me, he looked just about ready to cry himself.

Josh and I hadn’t quite fallen off the bed while we’d been fighting, but we’d gotten tangled up in the covers, and we’d pretty much had to fall off while we were getting untangled. My pants had been over on the other side, so that’s where Dad had ended up, and now he called me over to him.

Before they started whupping us, Dad and Uncle Bill helped us get the covers straightened out. I guess we had to do it before we could go back to bed, but my stomach protested at the delay.

When we finished that, I looked at Dad, but he’d picked my belt up again and gestured at the bed. I sighed, reached up and got the pillow, and laid it over the side of the bed.

Josh had a pretty cool bed. It wasn’t just bigger than mine - I think Mom said it was a ‘queen sized’ - but it had these drawers underneath. He mostly used them for clothes he wasn’t wearing - like sweaters and coats when it was summer - but it meant his bed was higher off the ground than mine. I mean, I’m like 5’1” now, but I still had to use my hands to push up a bit to lie across the pillow.

“When did you start doing that?” Uncle Bill asked.

“Oh, it was a suggestion from Marc - Carrie’s brother.”

Dad hadn’t been using the belt on me long, and it seemed like he’d always had me go over the pillow, but I couldn’t remember for sure. I wasn’t sure if I should be mad at Uncle Marc for suggesting it or not.

“Worth it?”

“Gives me a better target, and it seems to keep him in place a bit better.”

“Let’s try that, Josh. Get your pillow.”

I don’t know why Josh glared at me. It’s not like I suggested it.

Once he was in the same - embarrassing - position I was, our dads lined us up, and Uncle Bill decided he wasn’t through being funny yet.

“Say, Brad, does that pillow keep Kai’s hands out of the way?”

“No,” Dad admitted, “it doesn’t do that.”

“Josh hasn’t got that one down yet, either. Hey guys,” he said, suddenly addressing us. “You two need to learn to get along anyway, so why not help each other out? Hold hands while we take care of this.”

“What?” Josh protested, but Uncle Bill just repeated himself.

I was more than five feet tall now, and Josh was a couple of inches taller than me. Even with our hips up on pillows on the side of the bed, our heads weren’t too far from each other. Instead of having to stretch to reach each other, we ended up with our arms spread a bit, and we were holding each other’s upper arms in our hands.

Finally, Dad and Uncle Bill both seemed to be satisfied.

I suddenly realized that was a bad thing as I saw Uncle Bill raise Josh’s belt.

I was looking in Josh’s face as the belt snapped down across his butt. He winced, but managed not to react more than that and a shiver of his body. A second later, I managed to react not much more, though I’m pretty sure I jumped more than he did.

That’s how it went. The belt c‍‍racked down on Josh’s a‍ss, then on mine. Josh and I were only a few months apart, but he was an inch or two bigger than me (in height, we were both about four inches down there) I had thought Josh was tougher than I was, but as the belts cra‍cked down back and forth, each taking its turn, I managed to keep up with him at first more or less. He yelped at the second, and sobbed at the third stroke. Both of us were jumping around, and I could feel his hands squeezing my arms as the strokes came down again and again. Tears were running down both our faces by the fourth time, and he was crying at the fifth time. I guess I was too, but not as hard.

As my belt snapped down a sixth time, I jumped around and realized that I was actually getting hard again.

For a minute, I couldn’t believe it. I mean, I’d always been fascinated by other guys getting whuppings. I’d loved when I could get someone to talk about getting spanked or getting paddled at school. I’d even managed to make a secret youtube account with a ton of spankings and stuff from movies like Joe the King and Lord of the Flies, plus videos of like birthday spankings and kids smacking each other.

But I’d never reacted like this. I’d never gotten hard while I was getting a spanking.

But lying there, even as bad as my own butt hurt, I realized what the difference was.

I loved Josh. We fought a lot, but our parents were visiting each other all the time. Josh was only a few months older than me, and there were a ton of pictures of us when we were babies and little kids doing everything from playing to bathing to taking naps together. In a lot of ways, I was closer to him than I was to my own brothers.

But we did fight a lot, and he knew how to get on my nerves worse than anyone. And he had lied to me. Again.

I don’t know if that was it, or if I would have felt that way no matter who else was here, or why we were getting it. I just knew that, as bad as my own whipping hurt, and as much as I didn’t like it, I loved hearing that belt smack Josh’s pretty little butt, and I loved watching him jump and jerk and squirm, and I loved seeing his face as he felt it, and hearing him cry.

I hated my whipping, and I felt bad for Josh getting it, but I loved it, too.

I lost count after nine, but the whuppings finally stopped not long after - probably twelve for each of us. Our dads left us lying over the bed for a moment, then they dropped our belts.

“Now, unless you boys think you need a few more,” Uncle Bill told us both, “get to bed and don’t let us hear from you again before the morning unless it’s a real emergency.”

A second later, the light snapped out, the door opened, and Dad said, “Night, boys.”

Josh and I just laid there a couple of moments, our crying slowly getting softer. He finally got up, still sniffing a lot and sobbing a little, and headed towards his bathroom, pausing to peep around the door and make sure no one could see him. A couple of minutes later, he came back, grabbed his pillow from the side of the bed, and climbed in - slowly and carefully.

I’d stopped crying by that point, and I pushed myself up. The room was nearly pitch black, but I was still pretty careful to keep turned so Josh couldn’t see my wood. I snuck out to the bathroom long enough to blow my nose and wash my face, then I went back to his bedroom and climbed into bed, just as carefully as he had.

I lay there, stiff and nervous.

“Sorry we got in trouble,” Josh said quietly - barely more than a whisper.

“Yeah, me too,” I replied, relaxing and feeling better, knowing he didn’t blame me - at least not entirely.

I waited for him to say something else, but he was quiet. After a long moment, I felt him shift around beside me. Despite the pleasant stiffness of my d‍ick, my b‍utt was still pretty sore, so I carefully rolled over a bit and closed my eyes.
