Well, glad you're feeling better but I would have a complete physical done if you haven't already with your regular doc.

Please feel better soon Jack! Maybe you should farm the boys off on family for a couple of days and rest.

No go.  For one, I couldn't send the kids anyplace, and inviting other people here while I was here would be the opposite of restful.

In the second place, I felt bad for literally about 30 minutes.  That's why I wonder about dehydration - because I felt fine without cooling off or taking in more liquids.

Whatever the cause was, I am doing fine, and I have a better idea what symptoms to watch for now.

Thanks for your concern.

Take more care of yourself...

Thank you for the kind thought, but let me clarify something (mostly because of what I've been hearing almost non-stop in the real world for the last few days, not anything said here).

I was taking care of myself.  I was drinking a lot of water - just water, on top of the two cokes I allow myself each day and all the fruit juice I drink.

The problem was that my blood pressure was very high back in January, and the doctors prescribed a number of medications for it, while trying to get it down where they wanted it.  They specifically gave me a diuretic (makes you pass water), and told me to cut back on my water and sodium intake.  I was simply following doctors orders, but things were overdone somewhere.

The real problem was that I didn't really show any signs of being dehydrated, at least not the normal signs that I've seen before.  To the left, at least now I'll recognize if this situation happens again and be prepared to drink more.  Added to that, I have rearranged my schedule a bit to take in more water first thing in the morning, JIC.

Thanks to everyone for the kind wishes.

They are treating this as a TIA (mini-stroke) for safety reasons, and I still need to do a follow up, but I am feeling fine, and I have an idea what to watch out for now, so hopefully it won't become a problem again.

Glad you're feeling better.  The lightheadedness that goes with low blood pressure from dehydration truly feels awful.

Sorry to hear you've been under the weather...

God in heaven, I hated the MRI.

Stevie doesn't think, however, that MRIs are all that bad compared with some of the procedures he's had over the years... just be grateful they didn't decide to do an angiogram and all...

Stevie really, really hates having angiograms...

I am joining all who are glad you are well once gain, and most importantly, that they determined the cause for this today fairly readily. Having personally experienced a situation where the cause for a medical issue was not able to be definitively determined in the Emergency Department, and that resulted in a long cycle of specialist visits and tests. It was a lengthy, expensive but even worse, worrisome process to rule out each possible issue that I would not wish on my worst enemy. It is truly a blessing that this did not happen to you, Jack, and I am very glad to hear that you are now fine and can address a similar attack in the future, should it occur.

Glad you feel better Jack.
Hopefully recalibration of your meds has fixed the problem.
Not sure if this is what the docs recommend but I go through a ton of Tang, love the stuff.

Glad you are okay.  Been there, and still do get light headed, when I don't keep my water intake up.  Low blood sugar will make me light headed.  If I put off eating and then try to do some work.

Dehydration is serious stuff, so make sure to drink plenty of water.  I had to increase my water consumption, because of kidney infections from dehydrating.  I am at just over a half gallon (70-75 ounces or 2 liters) of water a day and need to increase it even more.  3 liters or 102 ounces per day for a man is recommended but honestly that is a lot of water.
