I am patched up and overhauled for now and I am home. I have an appointment on Thursday of this week with the PCP to finally break down and ask for a referral to a pain specialist.
I also have the name of a Vandy neurosurgeon who has great success with my back issue. (Yes, neurosurgeon.) The hospital's house officer gave me her name. Going to get a referral to her as well. She has great reviews according to Dr. Internet.
My recurring issue is something will trigger me in to vomiting. Lately the trigger has been pain. Once I get rolling I require IV anti-emetics to get me stopped. The persistent vomiting also sends my electrolytes to hell and puts me in hypoglycemia and sometimes renal insufficiency.
If we can stop the pain then my episodes should decrease.
He texted again today, and he's going to be remaining in the hospital a bit longer. He had hoped to go home this afternoon, but his electrolytes are still off, so they're keeping him a bit longer.
AND.... David asked me to let everyone know that he's back in the hospital again. He didn't mention the cause, but we all know he has a number of recurring health problems. Let's all keep him in our thoughts and prayers (not meant sarcastically), and hope he can return to his family and us soon.
