Happy to hear the announcement.  Excited to pre-read the new season chapters, and then get to read them again on MMSA.

I just wanted to make a couple of announcements here.

First, let me remind readers that the Raven's Guide to CPHS is available here - https://docs.google.com/document/d/19-Q08ldlpMVjux2_Pg2VSkCtISrfyUoDDI0jnDjHGCQ/edit?usp=sharing

Second, I'm happy to announce that all of season three has now been submitted and the last five episodes should be appearing over the next month or so.  S03 is actually longer than the first two at 16 chapters.  A lot of the reason for that is, I burned out while writing season two and just jumped to a close, rather than leaving things hanging.  At that time, I really didn't plan to come back to it.  However, like Dad and Me, I really enjoy these characters.  However, that meant S03 had to explore and explain a number of things that were supposed to happen at the end of S02.

Finally - I'm also happy to announce that I started the actual writing of S04 today.

The first five episodes of this series have now been posted, and I have to admit that, while I'd love more feedback, I'm extremely happy with the number of readers who've stayed with the series this long.

REQUEST AND DISCUSSION:

It's interesting to me that, of the five episodes currently posted, three of them received a staff recommendation.  Now, I don't know if these were all reviewed by the same person or not, but I'd be interested in hearing what anyone thinks about reasons that some of them were recommended and others weren't.  I have my own ideas, but I'd like to hear yours first.

Thanks,

Jack

Jack, I find that same thing with my stores, especially the series.

Some will have the Staff Recommendation and others won't and they were all usually written at the same time, just broken up into series.

My thought about this is that it depends on who reviews it.  Now I rarely know who reviews my stories.  Occasionally a reviewer will send me feedback and tell me they reviewed and liked the story, so those I know, but most I don't.

I do find it odd, when I will write a story in two hours and send it in, and it gets a Staff Recommendation, and I will spend weeks going over and over another story to get everything just right and no Recommendation.

The only way I can explain that happening is different reviewers.  Which makes sense, because each reviewer has their own personal taste in a story.  Being a reviewer, I would assume that review stories that aren't their personal taste, so it would only make sense they wouldn't put their own recommendation on a story that isn't of their taste.

I know I could never be a reviewer.  There are many reasons why, but one of those reasons, I only read stories that I find personally desirous.  I mean I read stories from a lot of authors, but not all the stories written for a particular author.  Some stories are in my wheelhouse and others aren't, even those written from the same author.

It really IS excellent.  So good that, having beta read it, I am rereading each chapter as it posts on MMSA.  I can't wait for series 2.

You will want to read this one.  I mean I love everything Jack writes but this one is special for a number of reasons.
One it's new.  How long has it been since Jack wrote something new?  I don't know.
But the main reason I'm having fun with this story is that Jack is going to have the entire student population in this thing. (Exaggerating) (I think) and yet each and every character it distinct and most importantly you can keep them all clear in your head.

in case there's anyone here who is interested, but doesn't check MMSA on a regular basis, I wanted to mention that I have a new series.

https://malespank.net/viewStory.php?id=51588&login=author

To be clear, this is NOT a spanking story.  There are spankings in almost every chapter, and I try to make them hot, interesting, and relevant, but this is intended to be a high school soap opera, where a lot of the characters happen to be gay and many of them happen to be into spanking.  Sure, it's wish fulfillment, but hopefully it's interesting wish fulfillment.

Originally, this was intended to be ten chapters, but it ended up at twelve, and those twelve are over 70,000 words, so it's definitely novel length.  In case you didn't guess, that means I did write the entire first Season before I began posting it, to be sure I wouldn't become discouraged and quit partway through.

I have called these first twelve chapters 'Season One' and it ends on a cliffhanger.  I wasn't sure if I was going to continue or not, but I've had enough fun with it that I've already started writing Season two.

I also want to take a minute to thank Adric, who's been my editor for this series (and other writing) as well as Zac and Kier, who've been beta readers and helped a lot with feedback and continuity.

Hope that, if you check it out, you enjoy it.

Thanks
