Actually, I believe it was a car rental place, not a dealership.

Second, my reaction kind of depends on a couple of details that weren't in the story.  Having said that, I do agree he should have known not to be touching things in a running car, so I think a hand spanking on his bare bottom should be appropriate to remind him of that.

He won't get it, but a spanking is in order.  He is old enough to know better than to put it in gear. 

If I were the dealership, I would insist that Ben Affleck buy both cars, since neither can be sold as new anymore.  They have been involved in an accident, even if there wasn't any damage.  I'm just saying, Sammy deserves to have those jeans removed along with whatever undies he is wearing and get his bare bum tanned.
