I doubt there will be any right now, David.

With Christmas being next week, there will basically be no court, except severe emergencies.  I know CPS is trying to investigate, but even there, they're dealing with the urgent situations, and there are no signs this is urgent.  As for the police/DA, I think I already got the judge to amend the PO so that Chas can be around his mom as long as she's supervised.  Other than that, they're going to wait and do an investigation before deciding on any charges.

I wasn't there, so I don't know what happened, but it sounds like the official story now is that she did mean to slap him, but she was washing the cup, was holding it with her fingers through the... loop?  handle?  Because she was holding it like that, she didn't let go when she tried, and she was already swinging before she realized it.  I'm not sure if that will make a difference in the charges (or if there are charges) or not.

I haven't been able to imagine this situation.  I think it may not be very convincing to an investigator trying to reconstruct the circumstances.

Honestly, it's not very convincing to me.  On the other hand, I don't believe she was trying to injure him, so I'm not really sure what to think.

What I do know is that Chas seems to be doing okay so far.  He and I have been talking every night, and he seems to be okay with things.  If this goes on too long, that might change, but since it's the holidays, and he's seeing his sibs every day, I'm sure that's helping him adjust.

Not much has happened on this front, which can be expected for any state office over the holidays.

We did arrange things for Christmas.  I ended up getting a hotel room for Perry and Chas Christmas Eve, which was very close to their house, which made sure there was no chance of any violation for Mrs. T.  Chas seemed to enjoy things.

I don't remember how much detail I went into about Chas' shoplifting.  He wanted to gift gifts for his mom and dad, Perry and Evan, and he was supposed to buy one for his little sister whose name he'd drawn, and he had four friends (including Kenny, Colt, and Devon) for whom he wanted to get something.  As you can expect with as many kids as they have, the Tidwell's aren't able to give a lot in allowances, and Chas made a bad decision about how to get the gifts he wanted.

Because this was a class C misdemeanor Chas only has 24 hours of community service, of which he's already done 8.  One thing I firmly believe is in a fresh start (he want even have a shoplifting conviction to expunge, if he goes six months without anymore trouble), and I know he was at least tender for a while after his paddling.  Besides his community service, I got him in at my warehouse to do a few hours for a few days helping package outgoing items, so he was able to afford his entire Christmas list.

Overall, while the situation with his mom is regrettable and still in question, I think he did something he knew he shouldn't, and getting caught and paying for that bad decision was the best thing that could have happened to him.  While we're a bit crowded here, I think he's doing pretty well.

Poor kid. Buying presents can be an onus on kids with little pocket money. I'm glad you gave him the chance of earning money for presents honestly.

Thank you for the the update, Jack. I'm glad the consequences weren't more severe for him on the judicial front.

I'm also glad to hear that the judicial consequences weren't more severe.  What did his community service consist of?

The 8 he did so far, which was all before Christmas, was for the Huff Foundation, helping get last minute food stuffs and gifts for kids distributed.

I just needed to say that Chas has gone home.

Things went well while he was here.  He was homesick a bit, but he was able to see most of his family on a pretty regular basis, and he enjoyed being here with his friends, so there wasn't too much hardship, though he did get into a bit of trouble a time or two.

If this hadn't happened at Chritmas, this probably wouldn't have taken so long, but they normally only move emergency cases because of the number of state holidays at the end of the year.  There was also some problems because of the number of kids and because they homeschool (which means many less records and people to interview).  Eventually, because nothing like this had ever happened before with any of the kids, it was decided that this was an unfortunate accident.  They have made it very clear that they are keeping an open file on her, so if anything happens again, it won't end as quickly or easily.

Chas actually was allowed to go home last week, but he stayed with us until last Saturday, so he didn't have to move during the school week.  He has called a couple of times, and he says things are going pretty well and seem like they're basically back to normal.

Has there been any further problem or has the family gone back to normal?

Everything is stable as far as I can tell.

We're just getting into soccer and baseball season (and basketball season isn't quite over yet), so everyone is very busy, but I still see  Perry and the boys on a pretty regular basis, and the older boys seem to be staying out of trouble.

I spanked Lincoln at school today.

For those of you who don't know, I'm basically godfather to the oldest four Tidwell kids, and, to an extent, to all their kids.

I have known the Tidwell boys pretty much since John moved in with us, which has been nearly six years now.  The oldest Tidwell boy - Perry - has been friends with John nearly that entire time.

Lincoln is a fifth grader now and recently turned 11.  Like all his brothers so far, he's big for his age - about 5' tall, and probably 90 lbs.

Anyway, during recess this morning, Lincoln went inside to use the bathroom, but somehow decided it would be a good idea to go over to the middle school section and try to wave at Chas.   Of course he was caught and was then sent to the office for being out of place and disrupting class.  Because Chris doesn't work nearby and sometimes has to travel, and because Mrs. T has younger children, I'm often tagged to stand in as the parent for the Tidwell kids, especially now that I work there.

I should also say that Chris is very strict on misbehavior at school.

By the time I got out of class and got Linc to the office, he was pretty upset.  This was one of those things little boys do without thinking of how many rules they're breaking.  Kids aren't usually allowed to go in to use the bathroom, and the fact that he'd claimed it was an emergency made the rest look pretty bad.  He promised me that he'd really needed to pee bad and had only thought of 'saying hi' to Chas while he was peeing.  I took him at his word, but he knew he needed to go straight back out, he knew he wasn't supposed to be in the middle school section.  The 'disrupting class' thing seemed minor to me, but it was kind of the cherry on top.

Linc had already been lectured, and he knew that his dad was going to be upset with him.  While Chris has agreed that he will avoid double jeopardy, if I give the boys punishment beyond what a normal student would get, I do have to be serious about it.  I did offer to treat this like a regular school offense, and let his dad deal with the rest, but he did NOT want to have to wait for the other shoe to drop.  I should also mention that he's already been in trouble for out of bounds this year, and that his dad has apparently offered to use the belt on him recently, which probably influenced his decision.

There are a number of paddles available at BCA, since they deal from 6 year olds to young adults.  I selected the next smallest paddle, had Lincoln drop his pants and briefs, put him over my lap, and gave him a very thorough spanking.  He was having a loud, hard cry before I let him up.

Lincoln isn't shy, at least not around me, my kids, and his brothers.  Instead of rushing to dress, he paused to enjoy a good rub.  It was pretty cute.  Despite only recently turning 11, it looks like he's starting puberty.  Not many signs yet, and I haven't seen him undressed in a bit, but I'm sure his balls were a bit bigger than before.  Like his brothers, he's pretty well hung - probably about three inches long, which I think is a bit bigger than average for a per-pubescent boy, though not huge.  His sac isn't stretching much, so his balls are still pretty close up to his belly, which makes that long, thin **** kind of jut out, like he was half hard.  As he rubbed, it bounced around as well.

Very cute, even though he was still crying.
